Several years ago, as the sole owner of a graphics studio, I grappled with procrastination and nearly lost my business because it was easier to let distractions control my day than to do the actual work. Because I often worked alone, no one knew how much I was doing (or not doing during the day) so no one saw my procrastination or held me accountable to getting anything accomplished. I didn’t have the ability to focus and I was tired of turning to the cat for new business ideas. (For the record, her ideas weren’t very good.)
I was lucky though. I was able to I pull myself out of the business nosedive.
It didn’t happen overnight and it wasn’t pretty. And when my business was back on solid ground, the first thing I did was find someone who would consistently hold me accountable to my goals and my business. Because of this, I was able to really focus and grow the way I wanted to, the way I always should have been growing.
